I am proud of the impact I have had on organizations and businesses that are making the world a better place. Here are some examples of the impact of my work on real organizations.
Real Case Example #1
A large community mental health agency asked me to provide contracted leadership to a complex and “high-reliability” program. The program was a critical component of the regional system of care but was losing staff quickly – operating at 50% capacity with a 90% annual turnover rate. The program was also losing money dramatically… logging a $1.5 Million loss annually for the agency.
In 13 months, I built a strong leadership team. Together with this team, we achieved the following:
- Reduced the annual deficit by $950,000 and put in place a detailed plan to close the remaining gap.
- Reduced staff turnover from 90% to 8%.
- Significantly increased staff positive regard for the program as measured by satisfaction surveys.
- Increased quality of care received by clients as measured by satisfaction surveys and community partner sentiment.
Real Case Example #2
A large health network hired me to help turn around a struggling children’s inpatient mental health program. The program was losing the agency $250,000 annually, with a near-100% annual staff turnover rate. As a clinical leadership consultant, in 18 months I turned the deficit into an $80,000 annual surplus, reduced staff turnover to single digits, and secured $1.2 Million in new annual revenue for the agency while growing the program 25% as measured by staff size and client capacity.
Real Case Example #3
A local political organization hired me to develop a financial sustainability plan. They then extended my contract to implement the plan. The organization was dependent on a single benefactor when I joined them. Within 11 months, they were 100% financially self-sustaining. Meanwhile, the community reach of supporters grew by 1,500% in the same period of time.
